One of the nation’s top dual-threat quarterbacks, Gio ranked among the NCAA leaders in total offense in 2024 with 274.7 yards per game. During the season he threw for 2,557 yards, 18 TDs and just five INTs, completing 66% of his passes. He also rushed for 465 yards and seven TDs. Gio set the South Alabama single-game record for total offense with 432 passing yards and 62 rushing yards (494 total yards) against North Texas. Gio earned All-Sun Belt Honors. A native of Madison, AL, Gio was named First Team All-State by the Alabama Sportswriters Association (ASWA) his senior season.
